Nominations for candidates standing as MPs for the 2019 General Election in the two constituencies Faversham and Mid Kent, Maidstone and the Weald which are based in the borough of Maidstone, have been published today Thursday 14 November.

Below is a summary of the statement of the persons nominated for election as a Member of Parliament for Faversham and Mid Kent are:

  • Gary Butler – Independent
  • Hannah Amanda Perkin – Liberal Democrats – To stop Brexit
  • Jenny Reeves – Labour Party
  • Hannah Yvette Temple – Green Party
  • Helen Olivia Bicknell Whately – The Conservative Party Candidate

Below is a summary of the statement of the persons nominated for election as a Member of Parliament for Maidstone and the Weald are:

  • Helen Grant – The Conservative Party Candidate
  • Stuart Robert Jeffery – Green Party
  • Yolande Ann Kenward – Independent
  • Dan Wilkinson – Labour Party
  • James Martin Willis – Liberal Democrats

Anyone who would like to vote on 12 December must ensure that they are on the electoral register before Monday 26 November.

For those who are unsure whether they are qualified to vote at a UK General Election - they must:

  • Be 18 or over on 12 December
  • Be a British, Irish or qualifying Commonwealth citizen
  • Be resident at an address in the UK (or a British citizen living abroad who has been registered to vote in the UK in the last 15 years)
  • Not be legally excluded from voting
  • Be on the electoral register
  • Register by Monday 26 November

They are required to compete a form online at: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and follow the instructions to vote.  They will need their national insurance number and passport (if they are living abroad).
