Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is asking parents, children and teachers of primary school age to get involved and join the Pollution Patrol to help improve air quality in Maidstone as part of World Car Free Day on 22 September.
Due to the Bank Holiday for The Queen’s State Funeral taking place on Monday 19 September, waste, recycling and garden collections for Maidstone will be moved back a day, which will affect collections all week.
The Mayor of Maidstone will be leading with his own personal reflection and a minute’s silence as part of the National Moment of Reflection.
An historic ceremony has taken place in Maidstone today, 11 September to proclaim the new King Charles III, with hundreds of local residents coming along to witness the momentous occasion in Jubilee Square.
Maidstone, as the County Town of Kent, is leading the proclamation of the new King on Sunday 11 September between 12.45pm and finishing by around 1pm in Jubilee Square, with all other boroughs in Kent following this announcement.
