Visit Maidstone Museum on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 February to meet characters from Maidstone’s past as they take visitors through the history of the town with character trails and pop-up performances. There will also be free bookable guided tours at 3.30pm and 4.30pm.

Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is working with the Hazlitt Institute as budding actors take over Maidstone Museum, entertaining anyone who visits.

Characters will be dressed in historical costumes and will act out scenes from Maidstone’s past. Join William Hazlitt, one of Maidstone’s famous historical characters, as he takes people on a guided tour, uncovering some fascinating facts about his life and the wider history of Maidstone along the way.

Cllr Claudine Russell, Lead Member for Leisure and Arts said:

“If you are looking for a free, fun way to end February half term and find out more about the town then please come along and join us.

“It’s lovely to see the Museum back open again and hosting great entertainment like this. It sounds like a fascinating way to find out about the history of our County Town.”

All the entertainment is free to enjoy however the guided tours must be booked in advance via the Hazlitt Theatre website. https://www.parkwoodtheatres.co.uk/hazlitt-theatre/whats-on/talk-of-the-town
