News Maidstone Business Terrace celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week

Join The Maidstone Business Terrace, run by Maidstone Borough Council, and more than 100 local business people in celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week at the Autumn Networking Event.

On Wednesday 20 November 5.30pm to 8pm join The Maidstone Business Terrace, run by Maidstone Borough Council, and more than 100 local business people in celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week at the Autumn Networking Event.

The event is part of a worldwide week of recognition for entrepreneurs, celebrating inspirers, idea generators and drivers of economic growth across the globe.

An inspirational speaker who started her business in Maidstone will be sharing her story on the night.

Lauren Hampshire from The Milky Tee Company designed and launched her own clothing range for breastfeeding mothers after struggling to find tops for herself she felt were both trendy and suitable.

When Lauren was starting out in 2018 she was unsure of how to make her idea into a viable and successful business. Lauren enlisted the help of the experts at The Business Terrace and The Milky Tee Company was born.

"Initially I had no idea how to turn my idea into a reality, but the support from The Business Terrace has been invaluable in helping me to achieve my vision. I first became aware of The Business Terrace after I stumbled across the website. As a Maidstone resident I decided to pop in one day to see what support was on offer and I've never looked back.

"I would definitely recommend Maidstone as a location for a start-up business. The Council provides so much support for start-ups and The Business Terrace is an ideal location, with experts and facilities on hand. I run my business from home, so having the opportunity to hire meeting and conference rooms enables me to portray my business in a professional way, providing reassurance to potential clients.’’

A real success story for Maidstone, The Business Terrace has supported more than 800 local businesses since it opened in 2015.
