The Maidstone Borough Council Go Green Go Wild scheme is encouraging everyone to get involved in the Seed Gathering Season to help grow the tress of the future.

The annual Seed Gathering Season is a national project of the Tree Council who are looking to inspire everyone to get involved in the campaign which runs until 23 October.

Nicola Toulson, who leads the Maidstone Borough Council Go Green Go Wild scheme said:

“It is so important that we all recognise the importance of trees which help tackle climate change and restore habitats.  Growing healthy trees from seed, planting, protecting and helping them thrive has to be the way forward.

“Go Green, Go Wild is encouraging everyone to get involved in this season’s Seed Gathering project, collecting seeds and growing trees is something we can all take part in – including children – what a great way to inspire our next generation to become tree enthusiasts.”

Go Green Go Wild was introduced by Maidstone Borough Council to encourage people to look after the nature that’s on their doorstep, create wildlife corridors, enhance native species and provide habitats, so that wildlife can thrive throughout Maidstone.
