Maidstone’s Mayor – Cllr Marion Ring, has said thank you to Maidstone Borough Council (MBC), key workers for all their hard work and for supporting the residents across the borough throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Today, Thursday 27 August, Cllr Ring treated 80 key colleagues to a fish and chips lunch at the Council’s Bircholt Depot where Grounds Maintenance, Environmental Waste and Street Cleansing teams are based, as a way of saying thank you for their continued work.

The Mayor – Cllr Ring said:

“I’m so proud of all of the key workers at Maidstone Borough Council who have continued to serve, support and deliver services to all our residents, businesses and stakeholders throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I really wanted to show my appreciation to all of them and this lunch today was the very least I could do as their Mayor to say thank you to them. Our borough would not be able to function without the services the people of the Council provide.”

Residents from across the borough of Maidstone have also shown their gratitude to the staff of MBC throughout the Coronavirus by leaving notes of thanks and rainbow pictures on waste bins and windows, paying tribute to the teams for the fantastic work they have been doing in difficult circumstances.
