Maidstone Borough Council is asking anyone struggling to pay their Council Tax bill to get in touch.

Stephen McGinnes, Maidstone Borough Council Director said:

“If someone is having difficulty paying we may be able to come up with a payment plan they can afford. If we don't know they are having problems making regular payments, they may incur further costs and charges which will have to be paid, potentially making the problem worse.

“Everyone needs some help from time to time, particularly at this time of year and we would much rather someone came and asked for help before it becomes a bigger problem.”

Anyone having difficulties paying their council tax bill needs to complete and return an ‘income and expenditure form’ which can be found on the Maidstone Borough Council website, under the ‘Problems paying council tax’ page, we can then agree an acceptable payment plan.
