The data is taken from the government’s statistics and includes the number of confirmed daily cases by Local Authority in Kent.
Gary Hunter, Transformation and Digital Services Manager at Maidstone Borough Council said:
“We have been receiving comments from residents asking for the number of cases and although the information is available on the gov.uk website it can be difficult to find the local area details.“We have created these web-pages to make it easy for Maidstone residents to follow the daily cases updates compared to the rest of Kent.
“If you hover your mouse over the graphs it shows the number of cases using the most up to date information.”
Alison Broom, Chief Executive of Maidstone Borough Council added:
“We all need to continue to do our bit to reduce transmission of Covid19 to protect lives and livelihoods. We are encouraging residents of the borough to follow the national lockdown rules. This will help to reduce the number of cases in Maidstone, reduce the impacts for residents and our health services and reduce the risk of tier 2 or tier 3 type restrictions being needed in the borough in the period after the current national lockdown ends.“Having the local level data more easily available should help people keep track of the level of covid19 cases in their own areas.”
