Calling all Star Wars Fans - May The Toys Be With You in Maidstone  image

As part of the ‘May The Toys Be With You’ exhibition which continues at Maidstone Museum, three special events are being held which will be unmissable for all Star Wars fans.

Visitors will be able to meet not only an Animatronic Designer and Puppeteer from the film series, but also hear from the Exhibition Creator and grab a selfie with some of their favourite characters including volunteers from the Rebel Legion and 501st Garrison.

Open until 4 September at Maidstone Museum, ‘May The Toys Be With You’ is one of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters.  For little and big kids alike, this exhibition is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to view rarely seen and highly collectable Star Wars treasures from X-Wing fighters to lightsabers.

The additional three events that have been organised this month as part of the exhibition are:

  • Saturday 21 August – Meet Animatronic Designer and Puppeteer - Tim Rose aka Admiral Ackbar – between 10am-2pm when he will be autographing memorabilia – no booking necessary – autographs will be charged accordingly
  • Thursday 26 August – Meet the exhibition creator Matt Fox – who will be talking about the making of the Star Wars films between 6pm and 9pm. The event is open to people aged 18+, tickets cost £10 per person (includes entry into the exhibition) and can be booked online now:  www.museum.maidstone.gov.uk
  • Saturday 28 August – From a Galaxy Far, Far Away…..a free event when fans can meet some of their favourite characters from the Rebel Legion and 501st Garrison – between 10am and 3pm – no booking necessary
