Mid Kent Embroidery and Textile Group (MKETG) are currently exhibiting a selection of members’ work at Maidstone Museum which finishes on Saturday 11 December.

The exhibition, called ‘Textile Travels’ includes a variety of work from traditional to contemporary and demonstrates a range of skills and techniques. It shows  hand; machine and free motion machine embroidery; applique; batik; felted work, patchwork and much more.

Cllr Martin Round, Chair of the Economic, Regeneration and Leisure Committee at Maidstone Borough Council has visited the exhibition and highly recommends a visit, he said;

“This exhibition is stunning, I was absolutely blown away by the high standard of work and the wide variety of artwork, it is amazing what can be achieved with fabric. I really would highly recommend a visit, you’ll have to be quick though as there are only a few days left, don’t miss it!”

The textile group, which includes beginners to international tutors, meets the second Saturday of every month at Aylesford Community Centre. For more information find Mid Kent Embroidery & Textile Group on Facebook or contact: mketgroup21@gmail.com
