The new service has been introduced to make it easier for residents and businesses to keep up to date with all the great things happening across the borough.
Leader of Maidstone Borough Council, David Burton said:
“There are so many things we need to let residents know about, the wide variety of services available, consultations, giving people a chance to have their say, the many events happening, updates on refuse collections, information on planning decisions. ‘Stay Connected’ is an opt-in service meaning people can choose to sign up for email newsletters. We are starting off with just three topics, News, Environmental Services and What’s On and hope to add to these as the service grows.”
The ‘Environmental Services’ newsletter will be providing regular updates about all public environmental services. This will include information and news about waste disposal, recycling, including top tips on what to recycle, waste crime, street cleaning, parks maintenance, Maidstone Borough In Bloom competition and gardening tips. As the newsletters develop, it is hoped to also provide a question and answer section, cover wider environmental and climate change issues.
David continues:
“We would like the service to develop over time, encouraging residents to let us know what they want to hear about. Why not sign up for it now, it’s very straightforward you just have to add in your email address and then tick the topics you would like to hear more about.”
To sign up for the new service simply register your email address on the pop up that will appear on the Maidstone.gov.uk website or click here: https://maidstone.gov.uk/StayConnected
