The MIC, which features world-first technology, top of the range specification and enviable facilities is set to welcome management training provider, the Centre for Regional International Development (CRID) and digital agency, Tilt Digital. Both businesses will relocate to the MIC when it opens in September.
The MIC, which is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020, is aimed at businesses working in the life science, healthcare and medical sectors. As well as providing office space, it will offer meeting and conference facilities, virtual offices and business support.
CRID, which is relocating from Rochester, works with businesses in the UK and Africa, focusing on sustainable development. It provides training in a range of industries including local government, aviation and health. Maidstone based Tilt Digital offers a range of digital and design services. It currently works with around 10 medical clients and is planning to expand its work in the sector, hence its decision to move into the MIC.
Cllr Martin Round, Chair of MBC Economic, Regeneration and Leisure Committee said:
“The Maidstone Innovation Centre has so much to offer tenants from first class facilities, inspirational surroundings and ground-breaking technology.“We’re expecting to have an interesting variety of businesses at the centre when it opens later in the year and it’s exciting to see how they might collaborate and work together.”
Nicholas Aitalegbe, Regional Director for Africa at CRID explains why they chose the MIC,
“We have worked with over 60 clients/organisations in Africa, in developing and/or improving workplace performance and growth in over 12 years. We would aim to explore the setup of a businessincubator unit, where we can use our experience and expertise as management training providers to support the workforce learning and development of organisation within the MIC because of this tenancy. This will give us socialcorporate responsibility opportunity to impact organisation within the MIC, more like the saying - charity begins at home.”
Peter Vinnicombe, founder of Tilt Digital comments:
“We service many different sectors, one of which is the medical industry. To date, we have worked with many different medical companies, assisting them with their digital requirements, including websites, branding and advertising. With the recent impact of the pandemic, we are also growing in areas such as corporate wellbeing and online services.“The Maidstone Innovation Centre is the perfect location for us to grow and make new connections and we are very much looking forward to networking and building ongoing relationships with other dynamic companies within the centre.”
