Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is encouraging everyone visiting the FreeWheelin’ FEASTival and eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine to grab a jab at a mobile ‘walk-in’ clinic at Mote Park this weekend.

The Maidstone walk in vaccine clinic will be on a bus at Mote Park this Saturday between 10am and 7pm and on Sunday between 11am and 6pm. Both first and second doses of the vaccine (Pfizer and AstraZeneca) are available, no appointments are needed, and the clinic is open to everyone aged 18+. National guidance is for the second dose to be a minimum of eight weeks from the first dose. Please bring ID along for proof of age.  The mobile bus has been organised as part of NHS Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group’s vaccination programme. MBC is supporting the Covid-19 vaccination campaign with the message: ”The Covid vaccine it is as essential as you are – get the jab - protect yourself and protect others.”

Maidstone Borough Council Chair of the Economic Regeneration and Leisure Committee – Cllr Martin Round said:

“I would encourage anyone who is in the Mote Park area this weekend to take advantage and get their vaccination (if they haven’t done so already), at the walk-in clinic.

“The Covid-19 vaccine programme is recognised as the next step to recovery, offering an essential layer to protect yourself and your loved ones and still appears to be the best defence against the virus.”

Dr Navin Kumta, Clinical Chair of NHS Kent and Medway CCG, added:

“It’s important that everyone eligible in Kent and Medway receives the Covid-19 vaccine and that is why we have been organising extra clinics across the county. It’s not too late to get your jab and this mobile clinic in Maidstone’s Mote Park provides easy access for everyone over the age of 18. No one needs to book – just turn up and get a jab.”

Anyone unable to attend a walk-in clinic can still book online.
