Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is encouraging businesspeople, whether solopreneurs, start-ups, or growing companies to make the most of its flexible workspace, The Business Terrace, when Covid-19 restrictions lift on Monday 19 July.

As MBC’s growth accelerator, The Business Terrace provides a new generation of facilities for businesses to start, grow and thrive and has helped over 600 businesses to date. It offers a range of options from occasional hot-desking, to ongoing office space as well as meeting and conference rooms, without a restrictive contract.

During the pandemic, the building has operated at limited capacity in accordance with guidelines. With all restrictions ending on 19July, The Business Terrace is now able to welcome more users who may not want to make a long commute and will benefit from access to its free onsite business advisers.

With meeting rooms and office space large enough to allow for social distancing, as well as an outside terrace, users can be reassured that they are still able to use the building in a Covid-secure way.

Cllr Martin Round, Maidstone Borough Council Chair of Economic, Regeneration and Leisure Committee adds:

“We know there are lots of budding entrepreneurs in Maidstone as well as start-ups who are itching to move on from working at their kitchen table.

“Similarly, many companies would like the option to return to office space but workers are understandably not so keen to go back to their packed commute.

“The Business Terrace is a perfect local solution in the heart of Maidstone. Businesspeople can use it as and when they choose without a long-term commitment. Past tenants tell us it has had a huge impact on their development, giving them the physical and mental space to grow and succeed.

“We hope more businesses are encouraged to give the facilities a try.”
