Stephen McGinnes, Director of Mid Kent Services at Maidstone Borough Council said:
“This is a call out to any business wondering whether to apply for a grant, please get in touch before the end of March. If you leave it until after that, it may be too late.“The grant schemes are confusing so we completely understand why a business may not have applied. However, I would really urge any business that was required to close between 5 November 2020 and 16 February 2021 and has not applied for a grant to urgently get in touch.”
The Musket Brewery in Loddington is a local business that has received a grant already, they sent over a word of thanks. Owner Tony Williams said:
“As all are aware, the hospitality industry has been decimated by the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic and as a small, family-owned business, we are only just hanging on during these very grim times and it is only through the generosity of our landlord, together with Government grants, that we are surviving. So thank you once again and stay safe.”
