Maidstone’s newest dining hot spot Love Food @ Lockmeadow opens its doors selling global inspired street food from local independent businesses.

The Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) led project is the first in a phased development at Lockmeadow Entertainment Centre to put the location firmly back on the map for residents and visitors to Maidstone who are looking for good food and entertainment.

Love Food @ Lockmeadow features communal dining within a collection of eight independent food and drink producers including Thai, Jamaican, Asian, vegan, American.  It also features a coffee shop with baked goods and a cocktail bar!

The food hall is made up of eight adjacent units at the front of the building, with four food outlets on either side of the centre’s front entrance with a communal seating area.

Officially opening the food hall, the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Fay Gooch said:

“I am absolutely delighted to open this amazing food hall - Love Food @ Lockmeadow. It really is what the town needs right now; a dining experience that reflects world flavours with fantastic choice. Customers coming here can expect good quality food from local businesses providing some wonderful flavours.  All eight of the outlets are offering some interesting menu choices at an affordable price and quick too!”

Love Food is situated in the ideal location for visitors to the cinema and families heading to and from Gravity or Hollywood Bowl.

Cllr Gooch added:

“Diners can also feel proud to be supporting local businesses. All our new tenants are Kent-based and have already formed a great business dynamic that will see fresh ideas coming to Lockmeadow to keep customers well fed and entertained.”

The Mayor concluded:

“I have met the new food tenants and it is evident that their passion for food and customer service will bring a fresh dynamic to Lockmeadow. We are also very proud to have used all Kent suppliers for this project.”

The food hall is part of improvements to Lockmeadow which also includes a children’s play area between the stag sculpture and the River Medway.

Love Food @ Lockmeadow will be open from 9am – 11pm*, with core hours of 12pm – 9pm – 7-days a week. Some units may open later than 9am.
