The summer events start with the Maidstone River Festival stage being set at Lockmeadow on Saturday 30 July. With its key location to the riverside with wide-open space and parking, it is the ideal spot for spectators to enjoy the music of the day.
The new Love Food hall will host Sunday Summer Sessions from 7 – 28 August bringing world music to the afternoon alongside their tasty street food and live acts inside and outside of the complex.
Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) Lead Member for Leisure and Arts – Cllr Claudine Russell said:
It is just brilliant to see so many different events being planned for Lockmeadow this summer; the complex is located in a perfect spot overlooking the River Medway and these events will bring the community of Maidstone together for food, entertainment and a great day out. Lockmeadow offers so much to so many different people and I am delighted that there are so many things happening there now.
One of MBC’s priorities is that Maidstone is a Thriving Place and the events being planned at Lockmeadow support this.
