As part of National Vegetarian Week which starts on 16 May Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) has worked with the Vegetarian Society to set up free tasting stalls in the Royal Star Arcade on Saturday 21 May from 11am to 4pm and at Love Food @ Lockmeadow Food Hall on Sunday 22 May from 12 to 4pm.

Visitors will be able to taste what’s on offer, talk to representatives from the Vegetarian Society and consider cutting down on meat consumption to save money and for a healthier lifestyle.

James Wilderspin, Biodiversity and Climate Change Manager at Maidstone Borough Council said:

“Eating veggie is one of the simplest things we can all do to reduce our own carbon footprints, even just one veggie day a week makes a difference. Vegetarian week is a great opportunity to try something new, set yourself a new challenge, save money, and make your lifestyle greener and healthier!”

Alexa Kersting-Woods, Leisure Property Manager is thrilled that Love Food @ Lockmeadow will be taking part, she said:

“As our new food court is proving so popular all stalls will be taking part in this vegetarian day and providing samples so customers can come along and try out a variety of different tasty food alternatives.”
