Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is on the lookout for volunteers and businesses to help run and be part of a pop-up green information centre which will be located in a currently empty retail unit in the town centre.

The ‘Go Green Information Centre’ will help anyone who may be confused, sceptical or doesn’t know where to start with becoming more green and sustainable. People will be able to drop by for advice, resources, and to see and find out about solutions, products and services already available that can help them become more sustainable.

James Wilderspin, Biodiversity and Climate Change Manager at MBC said:

As there is already so much drive and knowledge within the community we want to find local volunteers who are passionate about climate change to run the Go Green centre. We would like our volunteers to give out information on how to reduce energy bills, encouraging active travel, reducing carbon footprints, using sustainable products, answering questions and offering advice.

We would also love local sustainable businesses to showcase and demonstrate their goods and services for free to reach local people to create clarity and confidence in making greener choices. So if you have products and services you would like to showcase, or you would like to volunteer and be part of this exciting new project please get in touch.

The Go Green Information Centre will also be available for events and holding talks.

To volunteer or share details about your business please email:  jameswilderspin@maidstone.gov.uk
