The Magic of Christmas is coming to Maidstone – and everyone is invited to be there.

Maidstone Borough of Council (MBC) and One Maidstone are bringing the Town Centre alive with amazing Christmas entertainment on Thursday 24 November from 3.45pm to 7.00pm when everyone from Santa to Skating Baubles, Clockwork Ballerinas to Candy Cane Stilt Walkers will fill the streets.

Events will include performances throughout the town for all the family and is absolutely free of charge.  There will be music and performances from some of Maidstone’s brilliant theatre and community groups, amazing LED drummers and maybe even a little bit of mayhem courtesy of an uninvited green guest in the town!

It all starts at the Lockmeadow Entertainment Complex at 3.45pm when the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Derek Mortimer will join Santa and his elves to launch the Giant Post Box.  Children will then get the chance to have their photo taken, write a letter and send it off straight to Lapland. It will then be followed with a variety of performances ‘popping up’ around the town including in The Mall, Fremlin Walk, Royal Star Arcade and Lockmeadow.

Commenting on the Magic of Christmas Parade the Mayor said:

This will be a fantastic day for Maidstone Town Centre and I am really looking forward to seeing the excitement on the faces of everyone who comes along.

This event has something for everyone with entertainment for all the family totally free of charge.  I hope to see as many people as possible come along and enjoy the Magic of Christmas.

The event will finish with a fantastic Maidstone Magic of Christmas walking carnival when all the characters and performers will join together at 6.30pm and parade from Maidstone Museum, head through Fremlin Walk, on to Week Street, in to The Mall and down to Jubilee Square for a grand finale performance of the LED drummers outside the Town Hall.
