Maidstone Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Engagement – Cllr Lottie Parfitt Reid said:
“We are here to help anyone who may be struggling with the sudden increase in energy bills and cost of living, please come and find us and talk to one of our officers.”
Staff will also be able to provide details on the Warm Home Discount Scheme, provide information about Universal Credit, support with Council Tax payments, healthy eating, wellbeing and offer household bill payment support, money saving tips as well as debt advice.
“We are trying to help as many people as possible to get through this difficult time. Working with our partner organisations we can advise people on what support is available to them that they may not be aware of, to help them cope. I would encourage anyone who is worried about the rise in the cost of living to come and talk to the team at these events. Please remember you are not on your own.”
The MBC Cost of Living Support events are in The Mall Maidstone on the lower level, just along from Iceland between 10.30am and 2.30pm Tuesday to Saturday from 4 to 8 October 2022.
All the advice the Council and partner organisations are offering is free, impartial and confidential; it is tailored to help each individual situation.
