News Support for rising cost of living from MBC in Headcorn
Residents are being invited to come and talk to experts from Maidstone Borough Council and partners at Headcorn Village Hall on Thursday 12 January from 10.30am to 2.30pm where they can get advice, information and help around the effects of the rising cost of living.
Anyone can pop-in to the Village Hall on Thursday to grab a cuppa and talk to the organisations who will be on hand at this Rising Cost of Living Support Event. Advice and information will be available about managing the cost of food, utilities and fuel as well as details on the Warm Home Discount Scheme, Universal Credit and support with Council Tax payments.
Organisations on hand to help will include:
- Citizen Advice Bureau
- Department for Work and Pensions
- Fusion Healthy Living
- Golding Homes
- Headcorn Parish Council
- Involve
- KCC Digital Kent & Free School Meals
- Southern Water
- Maidstone Borough Council - Community Larder, Community Protection, Democratic Services, Ward Councillors & Welfare Teams
- TED Alert
MBC Lead Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Engagement – Cllr Lottie Parfitt Reid said:
“The price of food, utilities, heating, fuel and paying their bills are just a few of the things that people are telling the Council they are really worried about. So we are working with our many partners to provide as much help and advice that we can, under one roof, to make it as simple as possible for people to get the help they need.“Remember if you are worried about your rising costs you are not on your own, we’re here to help. Anyone is welcome to come along to this free event, please come and talk to us, we are also offering a hot drink and a biscuit.”
All the advice the Council and partner organisations are offering is free, impartial and confidential; it is tailored to help each individual situation.
