Maidstone’s Eco Hub will open in The Mall shopping centre, Maidstone, on Thursday 3 August until Friday 8 September for advice and information about becoming more sustainable.

Following the success of a similar centre which Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) opened last year the council has been lucky enough to secure another unit in The Mall which will open on the upper level of The Mall shopping centre, next door to Vision Express.

The Eco Hub is a pop-up information centre helping to support people live more sustainably, save money and reduce their carbon footprint. It will open three days a week between 10am and 4pm.

Cllr David Burton, Leader of MBC said:

“Maidstone’s Eco Hub will help anyone who may be confused, sceptical or unsure of where to start with becoming more environmentally aware and sustainable.

“People will be able to drop by for advice and find out about solutions, products and services already available that can help them become more sustainable. Our local volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice.”

Maidstone’s Eco Hub will hold interesting talks and fun family activities and competitions. The Eco Hub will open Thursday and Friday’s each week and alternate Wednesday and Saturday’s.

David continues:

“One of our key aims as a council is to reduce our carbon footprint and help residents in the borough to do the same. The Eco Hub will help provide residents with the information they need to do this, as well as giving residents an opportunity to take part in some fun activities and join in interesting talks.”
