News Maidstone Innovation Centre welcomes world leading skin imaging experts
The Maidstone Innovation Centre (MIC) has welcomed its newest tenant Michelson Diagnostics Ltd. World leading imaging technology experts who have created VivoSight, a powerful and versatile skin imaging tool used in hospitals and labs for skin cancer diagnosis and also for research into many other skin disease treatments and cosmetics.
They are joining an expanding list of companies in the med tech and life sciences industries who have chosen to base themselves in the state of the art facilities.
The MIC is a Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) initiative, which was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 and offers flexible working space, offices, meeting rooms and conference facilities. Part of the Kent Medical Campus, it is aimed at businesses working in the life science, healthcare and medical sectors.
Jon Holmes, CEO of Michelson Diagnostics said:
“I am very pleased we have joined the vibrant community of medtech, healthcare and life sciences companies at Maidstone Innovation Centre. We are already benefiting from our move by working with some of them on new innovation, manufacture and infrastructure projects that will support our growth.“We believe our flagship product VivoSight images and measurements give scientists and clinicians access to valuable information about the skin not readily available by other means. It provides users with the whole picture of skin instead of just part of it.
“The MIC will enable us to implement more streamlined layouts for our Manufacturing and Test facilities essential to fulfil the increased product volumes we are seeing in our growing business.”
