The Business Terrace, Maidstone Borough Council’s (MBC) flexible workspace and business support hub is celebrating eight years since it opened its doors to the entrepreneurs and small businesses of Maidstone.

To celebrate, The Terrace is hosting a free networking event and all local businesses are invited.

Come along on Thursday 13 July 5pm-7pm and hear from guest speaker James Gardner, a business growth expert who will share what it takes to keep a business growing into the future and uncovers three simple questions that can help transform a business and team. There will also be pitches from local start-up businesses.

The Business Terrace opened in 2015 to support businesses in the Borough. MBC provided flexible and affordable office space for start-up businesses utilising vacant council office space, showing MBCs commitment as a borough ‘Open for Business’.

Since opening, over 1,000 businesses have benefited from the support available at The Terrace and has hosted three of Kent’s ‘Top 30 under 30’ entrepreneurs. Due to its success, the Terrace expanded in both 2016 and 2018 to now have more than 8000sqft of office space, plus meeting rooms and hot desking.

Cllr Paul Cooper Cabinet Member for Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development at MBC said:

“We’re incredibly proud that The Business Terrace has supported so many businesses over the past eight years. Small Businesses are crucial in our economy and being able to help so many thrive across the borough is great to see. This event is a fantastic way to celebrate what’s best about our businesses in Maidstone”
