Maidstone Borough Council’s (MBC) Biodiversity and Climate Change team have created a new website to focus entirely on the work the council is doing around climate change and biodiversity.

The website https://climatechange.maidstone.gov.uk/ is packed full of information to help people understand climate change as well as useful tips and ideas of how to reduce impacts on the environment as an individual or business.

Cllr David Burton, Leader of MBC said:

“As a council we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and encouraging everyone in the borough to play a part in reducing theirs too.

“The new climate change website details our progress and the steps we are taking to meet our Net Zero target. It includes our Biodiversity and Climate Change Action Plan and how we are measuring our own Carbon Footprint across the borough.

“Take a look at our carbon calculating dashboard which enables us to collect accurate emission data and helps us to increase transparency and automate data from multiple sources.

“There is also a ‘What can I do? page, so whether you are an individual, business or school, you can get advice and tips on how to reduce your own impact on the environment.”

The website is now live and can be found at this link:

David continues:

“There is so much information on the new website so please take a look. Anyone interested in getting involved in a local community group and working with others to tackle the biodiversity emergency and climate crisis can find lots of information on here too.”
