Festive fun is on its way at Lockmeadow! image

Father Christmas in his sleigh and elves will be visiting Lockmeadow Entertainment Centre 24 to 26 November for photos. On Friday 24 November they will be available 4 to 7pm and again on Sunday 11am to 4pm with a children’s winter funfair outside all weekend.

Kent’s biggest Father Christmas post box will also open for children to send their postcards to the North Pole in time for Christmas and win a family ticket to the ODEON Luxe cinema.

The bright red giant post box will be available at the Love Food @ Lockmeadow food hall and will be open for letters to be posted from Friday 24 November at 4pm when Santa and his elves welcome the first visitors to send their postcards and have a photo taken. Children visiting Lockmeadow can write their postcards and send it in the giant box which has a special super-fast route directly to the North Pole where the postcards will magically arrive.

Visitors can also enjoy a children's winter funfair outside in Coronation Square from 4pm on 24 November to 4pm on Sunday 26 November.

Cllr Claudine Russell, Cabinet Member at Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) for Communities, Leisure and Arts said:

“I am so looking forward to visiting Lockmeadow for this wonderful festive entertainment. The council has run Santa’s Post Box for a couple of years now and it is so popular with all the children who send their letters directly to the North Pole. It is a fantastic idea and I am delighted that once again they will be able to use this free special Christmas postal service which is here for all children to enjoy.”

One of MBC’s priorities is that Maidstone is a Thriving Place and the events being planned at Lockmeadow support this.

Maidstone Borough Council became the landlord of Lockmeadow in 2019 when it bought out the long leasehold interest of the complex.
