Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages people to 'shop local' and support small businesses in their communities.
The event reflects the work of the Business Terrace, which is Maidstone Borough Council’s Growth Accelerator, providing high-quality flexible workspace and brings together like-minded individuals who influence, inspire and energise one-another. It provides a great choice of workspace for ambitious businesses in Maidstone. With all of the facilities needed to thrive, free ongoing support from business advisors, and affordable pricing to help businesses grow.
MBC Cabinet Member for Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development – Cllr Paul Cooper said:
“The Council is delighted to recognise Small Business Saturday which is very much in line with the work of the Business Terrace and the organisations we support.“The Terrace was created by MBC in 2015 to help facilitate start-up organisations and continues to support and help those businesses grow. It has superb facilities and experts on hand providing help and opportunities for so many small businesses to start, grow and thrive.”
MBC’s Business Terrace currently facilitates 33 businesses (office and committed hot desk space) and provides 55 virtual offices to organisations which range from ‘one-man bands’ to companies employing more than 20 people. The free on-site business support provision has helped over 1,000 businesses across the borough, providing access to local expertise from Business Planning to financing.
The Terrace which is located in the heart of Maidstone opposite King Street car park; next to the Bus Station and The Mall Shopping Centre, is ideally situated for businesses serving local, regional, national and even international markets.
