There are a significant number of changes to boundaries in Maidstone, coming in ahead of the elections in May 2024, with new Parliamentary Constituencies, and Borough Wards alongside changes to parishes.
Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) has opened a consultation which will close on 7 November 2023 as part of the requirement for the Council to conduct a review of the Borough’s polling districts and polling places every five years.
Angela Woodhouse, Electoral Registration Officer and Returning Officer at Maidstone Borough Council, said:
“We are asking everyone to please take some time to look at the proposals and in particular, if respondents feel a proposed polling place is unsuitable, especially with regards to accessibility, we would be interested in suitable alternatives that are within the relevant parish, ward and constituency.”
At the end of this consultation all comments received will be considered alongside the draft proposals before consideration by the Democracy and General Purposes Committee on 20 November 2023 and a final report to the Council meeting on 29 November 2023.
The survey only takes 4 - 8 minutes to complete and closes on 7 November 2023, follow the link to take part now:
