Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) works with Coolings Garden Centre in Bearsted and Pennywood Tours to run the competition and awards ceremony. The competition is free to enter with categories ranging from individual pots to entire gardens. Every household entering will receive a £5 Coolings gift voucher. Category winners are awarded prizes of up to £25 of Coolings vouchers.
The competition opened on Monday 1 April and will close Sunday 30 June. Judges from Pennywood Tours will inspect all gardens, pots or allotments throughout July giving anyone wishing to enter plenty of time to create their stunning displays.
Andrew Jesson, Green Spaces Manager at MBC said:
“It would be great to see more people than ever enter the In Bloom competition this year. With eight different categories to choose from there should be something for every type of gardener. I would encourage residents, businesses, community groups and schools to have a go and enter now.“This wonderful competition helps bring colour and vibrancy into our lives, flowers really help to increase biodiversity and wildlife as well as improving our wellbeing. So, if you are someone who enjoys making your garden or pots look beautiful why not enter this year and help brighten up the Borough.”
