The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Everyday Encounters’ and artworks can be in any medium including paints, pencils, sculpture, textiles, etc, however photography will not be accepted.
The competition is open to any age and a number of entries will be shortlisted to feature in a special exhibition which will be held in the Mote Park Learning Space from 28 October to 8 November 2024. Prizes will be awarded in two categories: under 18s and over 18s, Marathon Wealth Management have kindly sponsored the prizes this year.
The competition celebrates the beauty of Mote Park and the many different areas within it. The Council welcomes as many different entries as possible this year and is encouraging everyone of all abilities to have a go.
There will be a special preview event for those selected to exhibit on Saturday 26 October when the overall winners of the competition will also be announced. The exhibition will then be open to the public and free to visit. Visitors will be invited to vote for their own favourite artworks and the winner of this public vote will also receive a small prize.
The competition is open for entries until 27 September 2024 and full details of how to enter can be found at https://arts.maidstone.gov.uk/mote-park-art
