With less than three weeks left to enjoy the fabulous free art trail ‘Shaun the Sheep in the Heart of Kent’ Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is encouraging everyone to make the most of it before all the stunning sculptures move to one final location for the Farewell Weekend between 13 to 15 September 2024.

The free art trail ‘Shaun in the Heart of Kent’ project has been brought to the County Town by Heart of Kent Hospice, with MBC supporting it as Presenting Partner.

Cllr Stephen Thompson, MBC Cabinet Member for Healthier Stronger Communities in Maidstone said:

“We are delighted to have been able to support the Shaun the Sheep art trail. It has brought a real sense of joy to the town. The colourful Shauns have been attracting flocks of attention, creating perfect entertainment for families during the summer holidays!

“The trail is still in place until 30 August, so do make sure you visit before it ends. The farewell weekend at the Market Hall will be the perfect time to see them all in one place.”

Sessions for the Farewell Weekend are expected to sell out quickly and will run each day at 9.30am, 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm. Tickets are £4 adult (16+) and £2 child (4-15). Children (0-3) go free, but still need to have a ticket. A family ticket can be bought for £10. Group tickets can be purchased for groups of 10+.  With limited numbers, the first hour of each day will be a dedicated quiet hour open to everyone that would prefer reduced sensory stimulation.

Booking is now open to see all of the colourful Shaun the Sheep sculptures on display at the MBC Maidstone Market Hall, Lockmeadow, Maidstone ME16 8LW https://shaunheartofkent.co.uk/events/farewell-weekend/

As well as being the last time to see all the impressive sculpture designs in one place, this event is also the last opportunity to buy trail merchandise, take selfies, meet some of the artists and collect missing app codes from any sculptures not already collected.

Anyone interested in giving one of the beautiful Shaun sculptures a ‘forever home’ can register to attend the charity auction in aid of Heart of Kent Hospice which will take place on Thursday 26 September 2024.  The sculptures will be going under the hammer at the Clive Emson Conference centre which will see the sculptures auctioned by Auction Partners Clive Emson.
