Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is encouraging everyone to sign up to ‘go paperless’ and receive their Council Tax bill via email, helping save the costs of postage and paper.

Anyone with an email address can sign up and go paperless. Instead of getting their Council Tax bill in the post they will receive an email with the bill attached.

Cllr Claudine Russell, Cabinet Member for Communities, Leisure and Arts at MBC said:

If you have an email address you can go paperless and sign up now. More than 25,000 households across Maidstone are already registered for Council Tax e-billing.  We do understand that not everyone has an email address, however, if you do, we would really love to double that number if we can as it would help to make a real difference.

By registering for e-billing residents get a faster, more efficient, and convenient way to receive and check their bill. Instead of receiving a paper bill they will get an email with the bill attached.

Claudine continues:

By opting to receive your Council Tax bills by email you will be helping the Council to reduce costs which means we can spend the money saved on other essential services.

People registering for e-billing will need an email address, their Council Tax account number and be the person named on the bill.
