Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) has teamed up once again with the Hazlitt Theatre and Parkwood Theatres to bring this thrilling story to life in a summer open air tour. The tour is part of the Hazlitt’s initiative to make performing arts accessible and affordable for all in the local area.
Cllr Stephen Thompson, MBC Cabinet Member for Healthier Stronger Communities in Maidstone said:
“These wonderful outdoor shows are an absolute delight, taking place in many beautiful parts of our borough. They will be really great for all the family to enjoy. Tickets are really reasonably priced too, at just £5 each or £15 for a family of four.”
This year’s family friendly show is coming to all of these open-air venues:
Saturday 17 August - 1pm and 6pm - Hermitage Millennium Amphitheatre, Maidstone
Sunday 18 August – 3pm - Lenham Tithe Barn
Tuesday 20 August – 4pm - Cobtree Manor Park
Wednesday 21 August – 4pm - Staplehurst, Surrenden Field (King George VI Playing Field)
Thursday 22 August - 6pm - Marden, Southons Field
Friday 23 August – 12noon - South Park and at 6pm - Bearsted Green
Saturday 24 August – 6pm - Little Fant Farm
Sunday 25 August - 12 noon Bredhurst, Blacksmiths Barn and at 6pm Stockbury Playing Field
Hazlitt Theatre Tour Director, Jenny Longley said:
“We encourage families to bring their picnics and blankets to enjoy a show that we hope will make you laugh! It is different from a lot of traditional theatre because we like to keep the atmosphere really relaxed and family friendly.“Keeping the tickets at an affordable price is really important to us at the Hazlitt Theatre as we know how expensive live events can be for families - we want everyone to be able to experience this Summer tour. But be careful of those cheeky actors and your food! We always love to see those who dress up as their favourite characters too!”
