A workshop specifically focussed on understanding more about how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to help revolutionise the MedTech industry in Kent was held recently at the Maidstone Innovation Centre (MIC). It was attended by businesses, clinicians and medical technology professionals from across the south east.

Businesses were shown how to navigate through AI and digital technologies to help them maximise the benefits for both health care providers and the people who use their products or services.

They heard from experts on how to make better use of patient data by using AI. Specialists explained how to better understand regulations and how to create opportunities in funding and procurement. The workshop also demonstrated AI models to use and how it can be used to maximum effect in clinical use.

The Maidstone Innovation Centre is a Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) initiative; it’s a hub for MedTech, Life Science and Healthcare, striving to create an ecosystem that increases the output of high-tech health innovations. A visible, engaging and vibrant business destination located at the heart of the Kent Medical Campus and North Kent Enterprise Zone.

Sarah Tobias, MBC’s Innovation Centre Manager said:

Jane Ollis, Chair of Health Innovation for Kent, Surrey and Sussex network, hosted the event and said:
