Help shape the future of Maidstone by telling the Council what you think about the County Town.

Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) has launched the 2024 Resident Survey which starts today, Friday 6 September, and runs until Sunday 22 October, and wants to hear from the people who live and work in the borough about the services it provides and how it can support and improve for the future.

It is important to the Council that residents are at the heart of all the decisions it takes, and it is essential that they engage with all those it represents to understand the key issues and challenges that are being faced.

Following the Local Election in May, MBC has a new Cabinet who are reviewing the priorities for the Council and are committed to ‘Putting People and the Environment First.’  As part of this they will be working to deliver the following priorities for the people of Maidstone:

  • A high-quality place, adapted for the future
  • Resilient communities
  • Quality homes
  • Fairer economy for people and the planet

The survey will focus on these priorities and gives all residents the opportunity to tell the Council about their experiences of living in Maidstone.  It will help shape how it will plan for the future, from housing to health, well-being, waste and recycling to the cost-of-living. Resident’s viewpoints are extremely valuable and will help inform the decisions the Council makes.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Stuart Jeffery said:

The knowledge and understanding of people living in Maidstone is extremely valuable to help inform the decisions we make as a Council, for the future of all of us.

Every resident who completes the survey can enter into a prize draw to be in with a chance of winning a variety of prizes including:

  • Family tickets to cheer on Maidstone United FC
  • A spellbinding show at the Hazlitt Theatre Pantomime – Cinderella
  • A fun day out for all the family at Kent Life
  • Bowling like a movie star at Hollywood Bowl

Everyone who enters the prize draw is also eligible for a 7-day gym pass at Maidstone Leisure Centre.

MBC Cabinet Member for Community Cohesion and Safety, Cllr David Naghi added:

This survey is for the residents of Maidstone and offers the perfect opportunity for you to tell us about your experiences as a resident of Maidstone, and will help us improve the local area and the services that we provide in ways that matter to you.

MBC staff will be attending local events in the town centre and across the borough with the survey, for a list of these and a link to complete the survey follow the link: https://LetsTalkMaidstone.uk.engagementhq.com/resident-budget-survey-2024

The survey is open to Maidstone residents aged 18 or over. If you have any questions about this survey, please email:  consulation@maidstone.gov.uk
