Help design the 'Creative Maidstone' Logo image

An innovative Community Arts Hub is coming to Maidstone Town Centre, and it needs a brand identity.

Led by Maidstone Borough Council (MBC), ‘Creative Maidstone’ will be a new centre for local creatives and artists to network, build communities and use the spaces to create, exhibit and sell their works. Ahead of the Hub being filled with innovators and inspiration, the Council is holding a competition to find a new logo, which will close for entries on Monday 5 May 2025.

‘Creative Maidstone’ will be located on Gabriels Hill and will provide a range of facilities for artists and creatives, including low-rent studios, exhibition space and a retail area to sell their work. There will also be meeting rooms available for hire, and a social space for networking and collaboration. A regular programme of arts activities and classes will also be developed, providing greater opportunities for the local community to engage in arts and creativity.

Commenting on the competition to establish the centre’s identity, Angela Woodhouse, MBC Director of Strategy, Insight & Governance, said:

The Council is excited to offer this unique space to creatives and artists looking to flourish, and we envision the Hub becoming a landmark in our County Town. We would love to see your creative ideas to help define this new Maidstone icon.

The Council is looking for the new logo to reflect the spirit of creativity and inclusivity that will define the Hub. It will need to be eye-catching and suitable for use across a range of media, including print and digital. The competition is open to all creative individuals, regardless of experience level.

The full design brief and terms and conditions, including copyright ownership, can be found at arts.maidstone.gov.uk/logo-design-competition. Applications must be submitted no later than 5pm on Monday 5 May 2025.
