Working in partnership with Kent County Council and Xantura, MBC’s predictive analytics system enables targeted interventions, delivering tailored support to those most in need. Between June 2023 and January 2025, this approach resulted in temporary accommodation savings, increased prevention effectiveness and avoided homelessness cases.
This national recognition reflects MBC’s commitment to innovation and early intervention, setting a benchmark for councils across the country.
MBC continues to deliver a range of positive initiatives to tackle homelessness, working with local agencies and voluntary organisations to provide holistic support for those at risk and investing in prevention services and tailored interventions for vulnerable groups, such as young people, care leavers, and survivors of domestic abuse.
Their work also extends to improving access to supported housing and temporary accommodation, ensuring that those in need receive safe and suitable placements an ongoing engagement with people with lived experience of homelessness to inform service design and delivery.
These initiatives are part of the council’s wider commitment to making homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring, in line with the national strategy’s vision.
Councillor Simon Wales Cabinet Member for Housing and Homelessness said: “Our innovative practices and measurable results have set an example for councils nationwide. We remain dedicated to continuous improvement, working collaboratively with partners and the community to ensure that everyone in Maidstone has access to a safe and secure home.”
