Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is delighted to once again host the Medieval Fayre this Easter taking place on Saturday 12 April from 11am – 4pm.

The MBC Medieval Fayre will see a party of re-enactors bringing traditional crafts and skills to life along with talks and demonstrations including spinning, woodworking and calligraphy. Meet a barber surgeon and a Knight at Arms and enjoy live medieval music and dance at regular intervals throughout the day.

The free family fun-day will be held in the town centre’s beautiful Brenchley Gardens.

Visitors can find out about medieval crime and punishment or learn more on childhood toys and games, then meet the beautiful owls and birds of prey from Kent Owl Academy, before undertaking some Knight and Princess training!

There will also be stallholders selling medieval themed clothing and jewellery, and carved wooden items, as well as a chance to have a go at the traditional craft of wheat-weaving.

Cllr Stephen Thompson, MBC Cabinet Member for Healthier Stronger Communities said:

“Come along to our beautiful Brenchley Gardens and meet a host of re-enactors who will bring traditional crafts and skills to life with engaging talks and demonstrations.

“The Medieval Fayre is a fabulous day out for all the family, entry is free and there is so much for people of all ages to see and do.”
