The Support Fund is available for community organisations who are looking to support vulnerable households who may be struggling with food poverty over the summer holidays. Local organisations can apply for one-off funding of between £500 and £5,000 to help provide support for Maidstone residents and applications will open from Monday 2 June until Thursday 26 June 2025.
Cllr David Naghi, MBC Cabinet Member for Community Cohesion and Safety, said:
We all know how much the rising cost of living has affected the way we shop for food, eat and live. This grant has supported wonderful organisations in the past, and I encourage community groups to apply now to support the residents of Maidstone.
After the deadline has closed, applications will be evaluated by an MBC panel. Those that are successful will be determined by how much residents and the community will benefit from the project proposed.
Suggested projects could include:
MBC will also consider schemes offering support for providing school uniforms, including shoes.
Applications for the MBC Summer Community Support Fund should be able to demonstrate:
Please note that all successful organisations will be required to provide feedback and details to Maidstone Borough Council on the number of households supported.
Applications can be made online now: MBC Summer Community Support Fund
