Maidstone Borough Council is inviting residents and community groups to take part in a review of polling places across the borough. The public consultation opens on Wednesday 8 July 2026.

The review will look at whether current polling places and stations are appropriate, in the right locations and are easy for people to access and use. It aims to make sure that voting is straightforward and convenient for everyone.

Residents are encouraged to share their experiences of using local polling stations in as much detail as possible. The council is particularly interested in hearing about any barriers people may face when voting, with the aim to put provisions in place to ensure that everyone visits and uses polling stations.

Feedback can include:

  • where you vote
  • parking and access
  • accessibility for people with disabilities
  • suggestions for alternative venues

Angela Woodhouse, Returning Officer for Maidstone Borough Council, said:
“Voting should be simple and accessible for everyone. This review is an opportunity for residents to share their experiences and help us improve polling arrangements across Maidstone.”

Further information, including how to take part in the consultation, is available on Let’s Talk Maidstone and the council’s website. Printed copies of the proposals can also be viewed at in the reception area at Maidstone House, King Street, ME15 6JQ, by appointment.

The consultation closes on 19 August 2026. All responses must be received by this date.
