The River Medway was placed firmly in the spotlight this week as the Mayor of Maidstone joined partners and community representatives on board the Kentish Lady to mark the launch of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Maidstone River Park.
A horse-drawn carriage, the 36 Engineers Regiment and The Queen's Gurkha Engineers will be leading a procession through Maidstone to welcome the new mayor.
A search is underway to find named sponsors on plaques at Whatman Park or anyone whose handprints were taken and used on a display there 25 years ago.
