To mark the beginning of celebrations for Armed Forces Day a flag has been raised in front of the Cenotaph War Memorial in Brenchley Gardens by the Mayor of Maidstone Cllr Marion Ring at 11am today, Monday 22 June.
Maidstone’s towns and villages have been welcoming people back to shops across the borough and is grateful for how people have been observing new measures put in place to keep everyone safe.
Maidstone Borough Council has written a further letter to Rt. Hon Robert Jenrick MP, The Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government, about a lack of response to a letter originally sent in January.

Following the Government announcement that all shops can reopen from 15 June, Maidstone Borough Council and One Maidstone are working closely with Kent County Council and Kent Police to make this happen as safely as possible.
