The Leader of Maidstone Borough Council has written to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Robert Jenrick MP expressing his concerns around the significant shortfall of money the council has received to cope with the Coronavirus pandemic.
Maidstone’s Mayor – Cllr Marion Ring, has pledged £1,000 to the MBC charity crowdfunding appeal – Maidstone CARES (Community Assistance Reaching Everyone Safely).

Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) has launched a crowdfunding appeal – ‘Maidstone Cares’ today (Friday 24 April), to support local charities and help communities across the borough most affected by the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) and is asking everyone who can to help by donating money to the campaign.
New legislation and government regulations which have changed rules around holding Council committee meetings will now allow Maidstone Borough Council to resume some Committee meetings in the coming weeks.
